Gillibrand Joins Appropriations Committee

New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced that she is joining the Senate Appropriations Committee as the new Congress gets underway. Appropriations oversees federal spending and funding that goes to programs and government agencies.

Gillibrand, who was re-elected in November to her third 6-year term in the U.S. Senate will also continue to serve on the Intelligence and Senate Armed Services Committees. She says she is hopeful that with an evenly divided Congress there may be movement on a bi-partisan bill to address immigration and border security.
