Governor Andrew Cuomo and challenger Cynthia Nixon will face off in a one-on-one debate Wednesday night at Hofstra University, in the one and only debate before the September 13th Primary between the two candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for Governor in New York.
The debate is being produced by WCBS-TV in New York City and will be rebroadcast on Mountain Lake PBS on Saturday, September 1st at 7pm.
Cuomo is seeking a third term as New York’s governor. Nixon is an actress, she starred in HBO’s Sex And The City, and is running as a liberal alternative to Cuomo.
The Governor holds a substantial lead over Nixon, according to a July poll from Siena College, which put Cuomo at 60 percent to Nixon’s 29 percent.
The Democratic primary is Thursday, September 13.
