The City of Plattsburgh is gearing up for the summer’s biggest event, the 47th annual Mayor’s Cup Regatta and Festival. For the third year, students at CV-TEC teamed up with the Sunrise Rotary Club to design the official Mayor’s Cup t-shirt. Out of 35 entries, 10 finalists were selected, and then the mayor himself unveiled the winner, designed by Northeastern Clinton Senior Emily Whalen. Her design showcases all the activities that will be happening during the festival.
The Mayor’s Cup Regatta and festival draws thousands every summer for the sailboat race on Lake Champlain and fun activities at City Beach. This year the Rotary Club has added afternoon events, at the Plattsburgh City Marina, including a poker run & stroll, boat parade, and music to help draw crowds downtown. The t-shirts are available for purchase on the Mayor’s Cup website, the proceeds will benefit Sunrise Rotary.
The Mayor’s Cup Regatta and Festival takes place on Saturday, July 6.
