Enjoy an assortment of family-friendly activities during the 2021 Adirondack Harvest Festival: Open Farm Week!

This year,Adirondack Harvest Festival: Open Farm Week will be hosted in-person with events spread out across the region! Visit Adirondack Harvest’s Facebook page and website for a complete calendar of events, like self-guided, and guided farm tours, special you-pick activities, demonstrations, and more!
Over one week, you’ll be able to discovercommunity organizations with agricultural exhibits and programs, and events serving local cuisine hosted by farms, value-added producers, forestry products businesses, restaurants, and museums.
The Harvest Festival was created in 2016 to celebrate local farms and food, support our local economy, and give community members experiences that help us all learn and grow together. Designed to bring farms, local businesses, and the community together, this series of events gives regional farms an opportunity to showcase their work, and community members to learn, try new foods, and meet the makers.
Adirondack Harvest is a community organization and program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County.

Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch & Petting Zoo

Join Country Dreams Farm for a corn maze, pumpkin patch, wagon rides, petting zoo and more! Country Dreams Farm is a working farm that uses draft horses for some of their “horse power”. Come visit the petting zoo, participate in the annual corn maze, and pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to take home.
Essex County NY 4-H Animal Shows & Exhibits

Watch Essex County 4-H youth show their project animals and visit their static exhibits in Floral Hall. The Essex County 4-H Tractor Club will also have a display of antique tractors for visitors to view.
Balloon Tether & Family Fun at Mossbrook Roots Flower Farm

Get a birds-eye-view of theMossbrook Roots Flower Farm, nestled between Lake Champlain and neighboring farmers! Weather dependent, there will be tethered hot air balloon rides as well as yard games, food trucks and the bouquet bar will be open for you to design your own floral creation. Balloon tether rides will be offered, weather dependent.

You-Pick Pumpkins & Goat Milk Gelato Tasting

“The Patch” at Hidden Pastures Dairy will be open for you-pick pumpkins. Each family will be equipped with a wagon or cart to take along for the walk. The Hidden Pastures Dairy Farm Store will also be open each day throughout the event along with a few extra local vendors selling products, food and local baked goods. Enjoy free servings of goat milk gelato throughout the day.

Storytime with School Programs Manager Christine Campeau. Christine will read ADK food-related tall tales and other anecdotes from the region. Storytime will be at 12:30 PM, and again at 2:00 PM. All events are included with museum admission.

ADKX Curator and Gardener-led tours of the seasonal Victory Garden. Learn how people at home during World War II supported the war effort by growing their own foods and canning and preserving what they grew since food was rationed during the war years. Tours begin at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Throughout the day, young visitors can challenge themselves with a Victory Garden-themed scavenger hunt.All events are included with museum admission.
