On July 2, Mountain Lake PBS will be changing our main broadcast channel, requiring most over-the-air viewers to re-scan their television receivers to continue watching Mountain Lake PBS. Cable, Satellite and other providers have been notified of the change and should not be affected. We will keep everyone updated when we have more information.
When the change occurs from RF channel 38 to 36, you will need to re-scan your television receiver. The virtual channels of 57.1, 57.2 and 57.3 will remain the same.
To rescan a television, select “scan” or “autotune” on the TV or converter box control menu to start the scanning process. Instructions are usually available by pressing the “set-up” or “menu” buttons on your remote control.
The transmission changes result from the FCC’s nationwide TV spectrum repack, which requires new TV channel assignments in the region.
These changes apply only to viewers who receive Mountain Lake PBS (WCFE-TV) over-the-air via RF Channel 38. If you receive us over-the-air on one of our translators, there may be a slight delay before that change takes place.
