Mountain Lake PBS is highlighting changemakers throughout the North Country as a part of the PBS American Portrait initiative. This video features the story of Dr. John Rugge.

Dr. Rugge retired just last fall after 47 years of practice as a general practitioner in Chestertown & Warrenburg, New York.  He is also the founder of Hudson Headwaters, which now operates 21 health centers throughout the Adirondacks.  Dr. Rugge talks about the network of health centers he founded, that now cares for more than 100,000 patients across the Adirondacks.
