WISTA (The West Island Theatre Association) proudly presents THE PROM, a sensational musical extravaganza that will have you dancing in your seat from June 30 to July 8, 2023 at the Casgrain Theatre in Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue.

THE PROM, a recipient of the prestigious Drama Desk Award for Best Musical and recently adapted into a captivating Netflix film, delivers a delightful blend of laughter and heartfelt moments that resonate deeply with audiences in today’s world.

Prepare to embark on a journey with four larger-than-life Broadway stars who, in the wake of a disappointing opening night, embark on a mission to prove that they are far from the narcissistic personas that critics claim… All they need is one really GOOD CAUSE to support.

Their quest begins when they stumble upon a viral Twitter news article about a small-town high school in Indiana. Shockingly, the PTA canceled the prom after a student ( EMMA NOLAN portrayed by Alyssa Mirarchi ) requested to bring her same-sex girlfriend as her date.

Determined to change the hearts and minds of the townsfolk, save the prom, and silence their critics, these Broadway stars rush down to Indiana causing a chain of actions that will eventually help them rise above their own egos and promote a culture of inclusion and acceptance.

The West Island Theatre Association (WISTA) is a non-profit community theatre company founded in 2006, that allows individuals between the ages of 17 and 29 to interact and perform in the wonderful world of musical theatre. Our main goal is to keep alive the passions of an energetic combination of singers, dancers, technicians and musicians by giving them a space to grow and develop their skills. 

Since 2006, WISTA has grown to include over 60 members and has produced 12 full-length musical productions. WISTA also provides a myriad of services including cabaret-style performances, dinner theatre, flash mobs, Princess Parties, community events and workshops. WISTA is a member of the Quebec Drama Federation (QDF) and ELAN Quebec.
