When Something Scary Happens: Responding to Hurricane Florence

In the wake of Hurricane Florence and the related flooding, PBS KIDS is making three timely programs from ARTHUR, DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, and SESAME STREET available on air and online to stream.

We also wanted to remind you of the PBS KIDS “When Something Scary Happens” materials available for your station to use on an evergreen basis to help families and educators when natural disasters or other emergencies occur in your community. Via the link below you will find materials like Draw Your Feelings, Shelter from the Storm: Digital Story Book, and various resources and emergency plans to help discuss preparedness with your family.

Make sure to check out some of the clips and episodes based around emergency preparedness during a storm or natural disasters such as Arthur’s Shelter from the Storm and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood’s A Storm in the Neighborhood/After the Neighborhood Storm. Episodes are available online and will be aired as well.
