Canadian March Break (March 1st – 10th 2019 ) has officially kicked off!
With an entire week off from school, parents, students and teachers alike are encouraged to explore the city and try fun, learning activities and adventures together.
Still scrambling for ideas? Gen’s Delights invites you to spend time with the Stars at the Montreal Planetarium and see Butterflies go Free at the Botanical Gardens.
FROM FEBRUARY 28 TO APRIL 28 – Experience Nature’s miniature Masterpieces In the Main Exhibition Greenhouse, at the 22nd edition of Butterflies Go Free: a spectacular interactive walk though nursery where hundreds of shimmerings butterflies fly around freely in a lush green setting .
Young and old can marvel at the over 50 species on display and learn about the science behind their splendour.
During March break, you and your family can plan a Bug Bites guided activity with an experienced guide where you can get answers to all your questions about the magical four stages of metamorphosis of a Butterfly .
This year the Botanical Gardens is offering visitors fixed-time entry tickets.

Other wonderful family activities are held at the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan where you can spend time among the stars in Polaris , the new kid friendly animation show, (starting March 1st) , that introduces you to amateur astromers James, a travelling penguin from the South Pole, and Vladimir, a funny bear from the North Pole, who meet on the Arctic sea ice.
They will take visitors of all ages on a voyage around the Earth and learn the secrets of the changing seasons

Reservations are required during March break and you can use your one time movie purchase to see any of the other shows featured during the day of your visit (according to availability) .
Science and Hot Chocolate ; On March 5 and 6, the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan is inviting you to put on your snazziest sleepwear and come and spend the day with its team of science guides.
Free hot chocolate will be available all day to ticket holders. And those in PJs will get bonus chocolates !
