Monday is the federal holiday to honor the life and legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Junior. In past years, volunteers would work in the soup kitchen at Trinity Church in Plattsburgh, giving a day of service. But with the pandemic, that volunteer work, and many MLK celebrations are on hold. A group in Plattsburgh that hosts the yearly MLK Commemoration on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus wanted their celebration to go on, especially in a year that has seen such racial injustice and adversity, so they teamed up with us here at Mountain Lake PBS to produce a virtual celebration, featuring speakers and musicians, paying tribute to Dr. King. That program will be broadcast on Mountain Lake PBS on Monday, January 18th, at 1pm. You will also be able to watch it online, at www.mountainlake.org, and on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mlpbs on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 18th at 1pm.
