Vienna Comes to Montreal: A Season of Waltzes, Operetta, and Culinary Artistry 🎶

Vienna, the capital of Austria, is world-renowned for its imperial architecture, classical music heritage, and vibrant café culture. Located in the heart of Europe, it serves as a major gateway between Western and Eastern Europe and is an ideal hub for travel, culture, and creativity.

The Vienna International Airport (VIE) is one of the continent’s most efficient, offering direct connections to over 200 destinations and quick, easy access to the city center: just 16 minutes by City Airport Train (CAT) or about 20 minutes by car.

The city’s timeless charm is taking over Montreal this fall: from concert halls to the ballroom, and even to the breakfast table!

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending a special media event hosted by the Vienna Tourism Board at the Hôtel Place d’Armes. The event, titled “Vienne à croquer – Cuisine, Culture, Caractère,” invited guests to explore Vienna’s rich culinary scene from multiple perspectives; its gastronomy, agriculture, art of the table, and the deep connection between food and culture in the Austrian capital.

Sponsored by the Vienna Tourist Board and partners such as Lufthansa Group, Air Canada, Vienna Airport, Swarovski Kristallwelten, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the event was a delightful morning celebrating the essence of Viennese taste and tradition.

And the Viennese spirit continues to shine in Montreal this season!

On October 24, 2025, the Orchestre Classique de Montréal presents “An Evening of Viennese Operetta” at Salle Pierre-Mercure, under the direction of Simon Rivard.
