U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand visits Akwesasne to unveil a Master Plan on Aging

It was a historic day in Akwesasne as U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand paid a visit to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Senior Center to unveil her Master Plan on Aging. As a member of the special committee on Aging, Senator Gillibrand outlined a five-point plan to address the challenges faced by the rapidly aging population in the United States. Her priorities include addressing food insecurity, expanding the availability of nutritious meals at senior centers and food banks, getting Medicare to cover vision, hearing, and dental, lowering prescription drug prices, and helping seniors age in place. The Senator also emphasizes the importance of protecting Social Security and providing more resources to police to go after scammers and thieves who target seniors.
