An electrifying celebration of discipline, dedication, and human potential lands at La TOHU from April 23 to 26, 2026.
Montreal audiences are in for a breathtaking finale at la TOHU as the Australian troupe GRAVITY & OTHER MYTHS presents TEN THOUSAND HOURS, a show that transforms the invisible grind behind excellence into a dazzling, visceral experience.

Closing the 2025–2026 season at La TOHU, this 60-minute production, directed by Lachlan Binns, brings together eight elite acrobats in a performance that is as intellectually compelling as it is physically astonishing.
Designed for audiences aged four and up, the show invites viewers into the rarely seen world ‘behind the mastery/creation’ and the relentless, often unseen hours of practice that shape extraordinary skill.
Following the international success of The Pulse (2023) and The Mirror (2024), the acclaimed Australian troupe pushes its artistic vision further, turning the spotlight away from the final result and instead turn the attention to the step by step approach to creation itself.
Ten Thousand Hours may be described as a fusion circus performance that is also a quiet meditation on persistence, a tribute to repetition, and a powerful reminder that brilliance is slowly built over time.

At its core, Ten Thousand Hours speaks to something universal: everyone is a master of something.
From the simplest gestures such as blinking, walking, and producing basic sounds to the extraordinary: balancing, flipping, flying etc…the show re-frames human movement as both art and achievement.
Through raw physicality, technique and intimate staging, the performers reveal not just what they can do, but how they got there : rehearsal, re-invention, innovation and perseverance.
A standout presence throughout Ten Thousand Hours is the onstage drummer, who fuses prerecorded violin lines with explosive, precisely timed percussion. Each strike lands in perfect sync with the acrobats’ every twist, turn, and gravity-defying drop, creating a pulse that feels both cinematic and immediate.
The final product is a thrilling dialogue between sound and movement, where soaring strings meet raw rhythm amplifying the intensity of the performance and drawing the audience deeper into its kinetic energy.
This amazing show is a genuine love letter to the body, to discipline, and to the unseen effort behind every moment of grace. It’s an open invitation to witness not just performance, but experience a process in which you can watch mastery in motion.
