Clinton Community College’s Center for Governance is hosting its second Women in Local Politics Forum on April 11th at 6 pm at the Stafford Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
This event will be a panel discussion, moderated by Thom Hallock of Mountain Lake PBS. The panel will include former and present Clinton County Legislators Sara Rowden and Patty Waldron, and Town of Plattsburgh Town Councilor Barb Hebert.
“The CCC Center for Governance strives to raise community awareness of the obstacles that women faced in the past and still face today in the political arena. Anything that we can do to encourage the next generation of female public servants is extremely important,” Professor Tom Mandeville said.
The center held its first Women in Local Politics event in 2019 at the Stafford Auditorium on Clinton Community College’s campus. Former New York State Assemblywomen Janet Duprey and Teresa Sayward, Plattsburgh Town Councilor Meg LeFevre, Clinton County Area 6 Legislator Patty Waldron, and former Clinton County Legislator Sara Rowden all took part in the discussion on the role of women in local politics.
