The APA at 50

A new Mountain Lake PBS documentary looks at the wild and revolutionary idea of creating a state agency to oversee 6-million acres of public and private land in the Adirondack Park. We talk with journalist Brad Edmondson, whose decades of interviews tell the story of the environmental & political battles that led to the creation of the Adirondack Park Agency 50 years ago this past year. Adirondack Experience, the Museum on Blue Mountain Lake, held a day-long virtual symposium on the APA@50 and has a special online exhibition that looks at the APA’s creation and legacy.
