Every winter the United Way of the Adirondack Region hosts the "Kiss the Cow” fundraiser, an annual event supporting homelessness prevention in New York’s North Country. Community leaders and politicians participate by planting a kiss on a Holstein cow at the Miner Institute in Chazy, marking the culmination of the campaign that raised about $15,000 and awareness about the issue of homelessness.
John Bernardi discusses how the United Way is helping to make sure that families living in our rural communities have access to affordable childcare, as well as safe and reliable transportation. He discusses new financial literacy programs and services that the United Way and its partners are offering to help families living with financial insecurity.
