Surround yourself with nature and friendly animals this summer !

Searching for a family friendly activity that will immerse you in nature and allow you to interact with amazing animals ?

  • Parc Omega in Montebello is happy to boast not only a scenic drive-thru path with plenty of hungry animals to feed during the day, but also a stunning night illuminated forest walking trail.
  • You could also enjoy a small taste of Africa at Parc Safari and try your hand at their latest waterpark attraction : the Descent of the Nile!

Whatever activity you choose, Gen’s Delights got the dibs on these two fun family destinations axed on education and nature.

Plan a day or night visit to Omega Parc

Imagine a vast 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) wild life nature park that is open year round to the public and situated only a short hour and a half drive away from Montreal in Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours, Quebec (just 5 minutes north of Montebello).

Day visitors: The park offers an original drive-through experience through amazing natural terrain that puts people in direct contact with the thousands of wild animals (deer, wolves, black bears, buffalos, moose and other fabulous creatures), that inhabit our Canadian landscape. Guests are encouraged to feed carrots to the deer, wild boars and others friendly animals that approach your vehicle.

Night adventurers : Enjoy a luminous 1.5 km illuminated night trail that offers guests different interactive experiences in nature. From physical challenges (such as climbing a suspended bridge), admiring artistic sculptures or triggering with your footsteps an immersive light and sound show, expect to be surprised at every corner. At the end of your journey, there is even an up-close encounter with a pack of wolves under a silvery moon!

Plan at least 2 hours at night to complete the lighted trail and 4-5 hours during the day to do the car tour as well as visit the adjoining rustic farm, log cabin and trading post which remain open until late.

The park also offers various on-site sleeping accommodations during the summer and fall months that include tents, log cabins and cabins on stilts situated right next to the wolves and bear den. These on-site accommodations tend to book up quickly, so it is best to reserve in advance.

The night trail is open Wednesday to Saturday until the 9th of October. Masks and other health regulations must be observed .

There is a service cart available on demand at the gift shop for those pregnant, handicap or incapable of traveling on foot to the farm grounds.

Come and dive right into the heart of Africa at Parc Safari .

This stunning safari style nature park, located in Hemmingford Quebec, has been welcoming over 12 millions visitors since it’s opening in 1972 !

Over the years, the Parc has embellished its grounds, diversified its activities and invested continuously to improve and maintain exceptional life conditions for its residents: 450 animals of 75 different species.

Families will have a blast taking a 40 minute loop drive on the “plains” and stopping to hand feed the giraffes and zebras at the Afrika Terrace. ( The park encourages feeding, but not petting the animals to limit the spread of Covid-19).

The Olduvai elevated walkway will allow you to observe the playful antics of the macaques which has recently welcomed a new baby among their midst.

Meanwhile, the glass tunnels will put you eye to eye with a pride of lions !

The charming Farm of the Five Continents hosts domesticated animals from all over the world and allows children to enjoy a pony ride .

Their ever popular water park now comprises five areas: pools, beaches, tube ride, water slides and games. The latest addition is the Descent of the Nile : a three tube water slide experience with large surrounding Hollywood inspired thematic decor.

Parc Safari’s continued mission is to protect and preserve endangered species as well as educate their guests in a fun and interactive way.

The park is a miniature city of recreation, fun and educational environmental awareness for the whole family.

It is currently possible to book a night in one of their onsite COOLBOXES where you can enjoy a fully equipped outdoor accommodation and enjoy the best of both worlds: a night in nature with all the comforts of home!
