Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

The magical nanny Mary Poppins will be flying into Plattsburgh this month.  She nearly blew into town in 2020, but the pandemic kept her away.  The musical Mary Poppins, after enchanting audiences on the London stage and on Broadway, will finally land in the auditorium of Plattsburgh High School, after a delay of two years.  A special collaboration is helping bring the magic to the North Country.

The musical, based on the movie by Walt Disney Pictures and the books by P.L. Travers, was set to open in Plattsburgh in March of 2020, but COVID restrictions grounded Mary Poppins and ushered in two years of inactivity for the Plattsburgh High School Drama Club.

Now Plattsbugh High School has joined forces with Adirondack Regional Theatre to create a theatrical experience that is “practically perfect in every way.”  This joint venture sees Plattsburgh High School students acting alongside students of other schools and community members.

Mary Poppins , a collaboration of Plattsburgh High School Drama Club and Adirondack Regional Theatre, takes flight on the stage of the Plattsburgh High School auditorium June 9th through the 12th. Tickets may be purchased online and at these locations: Jackson & Callie in Boynton Square 164 Boynton Avenue Plattsburgh; the Plattsburgh YMCA 17 Oak St Plattsburgh or Bob’s Music in the Plattsburgh Plaza.
