This Sunday May 5th at La Maison Symphonique de Montreal, Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal cordially invite you to attend their first PETIT MOZART benefit event!
The proceeds will enhance the musical education of their 200 choristers and also contribute to the financing of their up-coming USA tour ( June 26th – July 5th ).
It is at the initiative of the Montreal Classical Orchestra, that following the benefit event, Mozart’s Requiem will be presented at 3 pm under the direction of Jacques Lacombe, featuring 170 Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal prepared by Andrew Gray, artistic and musical director, alongside 4 wonderful soloists from the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal.
Mozart’s Requiem is a masterpiece of choral music, renowned for its haunting beauty and emotional depth. Left unfinished at Mozart’s death, it remains a captivating exploration of mortality, redemption, and spiritual solace.
With its poignant melodies and intricate harmonies, the Requiem continues to mesmerize audiences, inviting reflection on the mysteries of life and death through its timeless music.
To celebrate this exceptional concert, Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal and L’OCM have crafted a vibrant musical reception that will transport you to the Danube and Alps region, taking you through the streets of Salzburg and Vienna, two cities that applauded the great composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!
About Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal
This renowned youth choral ensemble, embodies the spirit of musical excellence and tradition in Montreal. With a history dating back to 1956, this esteemed group of young choristers has captivated audiences worldwide with their angelic voices and impeccable performances.

2024 US Tour:
Between June 26th and July 5th, a group of 44 choristers, accompanied by their families, will embark on an enriching inter-cultural exchange tour throughout the United States.
This diverse ensemble comprises 18 secondary 5 students, encompassing tenors and basses, alongside 26 6th graders, including altos and sopranos.
Collaborative performances and workshops are scheduled with various American youth choirs across notable locations such as Philadelphia, Washington (including Canada Day celebrations at the embassy), Princeton (in collaboration with three choirs), and New York. The tour culminates in a grand finale concert at Fort Ticonderoga, promising an unforgettable musical experience.

Up-coming concerts
The Agora Orchestra will present the Earth Gala on June 12 at 8 p.m. at the Maison symphonique around Strauss’s Alpine Symphony, under the direction of conductor Nicolas Ellis. The evening will begin with a creation by composer Claudie Bertoiunesque which will combine the orchestra , 75 choristers from the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, electro-acoustics as well as beluga songs collected near Tadoussac using the hydrophones of the Research Group and education on marine mammals (GREMM).
