Hundreds, if not thousands of businesses here in the North Country, hit hard by the pandemic, are getting some financial help. A second round of the Paycheck Protection Program, under the latest COVID relief package that was passed by Congress in December. It offers federal loans to pay bills and keep workers on the job as many businesses struggle to survive until things can get back to normal. Champlain National Bank in Willsboro financed 25-million-dollars in loans for 250 businesses in Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties during the first round of the PPP.
