A national exhibit at SUNY Plattsburgh explores mass incarceration across America.
The States of Incarceration exhibit includes research by SUNY Plattsburgh students who focus on the effectiveness of prison education programs behind bars. The exhibit is in the Burke Gallery at the Plattsburgh State Art Museum, and open from Noon to 4pm, Monday through Sunday, through March 13th.
The PBS series College Behind Bars originally aired last November. All 4 parts will be re-broadcast on Sunday March 29th from 10am to 2pm on Mountain Lake PBS.
SUNY Plattsburgh held a screening of College Behind Bars on campus last week and then Dr. Breea Willingham, a criminal justice professor at SUNY Plattsburgh, and Thom Hallock, host of Mountain Lake Journal, held a discussion on the 4-part series produced by legendary filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick.
