Plattsburgh City Mayor Chris Rosenquest announced at the yearly North Country Chamber of Commerce’s State of the County, City, and Town breakfast gathering that he will not run for reelection this year.
Rosenquest says he wants to spend more time with his family.
Rosenquest, who is a Democrat, was elected mayor in 2020 defeating Republican Scott Beebie after he had defeated incumbent Mayor Colin Read in a Democratic primary in June of 2020. Rosenquest was a Clinton County Legislator prior to being elected mayor.
