Romanticism and Tradition upheld at Montreal’s elegant Viennese Ball this November 19th !

Gentle ladies and gents, it appears that recently we simply can’t get enough of period romance dramas.

From debating the merits of the upper and lower classes of Downton Abbey, anticipating the scandal of the up-coming Lady Chatterley’s Lover, as well as admiring the glitzy world of Austrian royalty in the much talked about new show called “The Empress” ~ we constantly seek for ways to fill the void left by Bridgerton’s Lady Whistledown:

Imagine our delight when Netflix’s first-ever Bridgerton Experience: the Queen’s Ball (promoted by Fever) came to Montreal after a very successful tour in the US.

For over a month, fans of the show donned their most elegant outfits, top hats and long gloves and came down to Arsenal Art Contemporain’ gallery to enjoy the 2 hours immersive spectacle of

mingling with other elegant members of the ton and partaking in an evening of music and dancing featuring acrobatic performances, interactive experiences, a stunning dance show, and delicious cocktails to savor”

Attendees were unanimous that a ball experience was something that everyone could find enjoyment in.

For those who missed their chance to participate in the above mentioned event, another equally fascinating, unique and very elegant affair is just around the corner in the city:

Viennese Ball of Montreal – November 19th 2022

.

Under the patronage of the Austrian Ambassador, next November 19th you are invited to join members of the Austrian society and other fine locals to partake in the timeless elegance and refined European glamour of the annual Viennese Ball to be held at 7 pm, in the grand ballrooms of Le Windsor.

This annual charity ball, sponsored by the Austrian Society of Montreal, unites glamorous entertainment and splendid European tradition while fundraising for worthy causes like @Love_quebec while celebrating a unique Viennese tradition that goes back to 1814 during the time when the crowned heads of Europe and the aristocracy searched for entertainment after the Napoleonic wars.

The first ball to be named “Opera Ball” was held in 1935 and with a few exceptions, has been held annually ever since. In Vienna it is the highlight of the season, with the heads of state and government, the political and industrial elite, members of the high society, and their guests attending.

Elegant debutantes and their escorts walking down the main staircase in traditional white dress, long white gloves, and tiara for female debutantes while traditional black suit and tailcoats are typical for male escorts

This year’s edition promises to be more spectacular than ever as the glamorous event moves from Le Chateau Marriott Champlain to the lavish ballrooms of Le Windsor, where hanging chandeliers and mirrored hallways will welcome attendees in grand manner.
