The Rockwell Kent Art Gallery on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus is once again open to the public. Tonya Cribb, who is the director of the Plattsburgh State Art Museum, says renovations over the past year included covering the gallery’s skylight to prevent U-V damage to the collection of Rockwell Kent paintings on display.
The renovated gallery also includes the addition of the new Mountain Lake PBS Mobile Learning Lab, where kids can use Kent’s paintings of the North Country to learn about science and climate change. The Learning Lab was funded through a grant by the Lake Placid Education Foundation and will also be visiting other museums & galleries in the coming months.
