TV Rescan day on July 2 for Mountain Lake PBS

On July 2, Mountain Lake PBS will be changing our main broadcast channel, requiring most over-the-air viewers to re-scan their television receivers to continue watching Mountain Lake PBS. Cable, Satellite and other providers have been notified of the change and should not be affected. We will keep everyone updated when we have more information.

When the change occurs from RF channel 38 to 36, you will need to re-scan your television receiver. The virtual channels of 57.1, 57.2 and 57.3 will remain the same.

To rescan a television, select “scan” or “autotune” on the TV or converter box control menu to start the scanning process. Instructions are usually available by pressing the “set-up” or “menu” buttons on your remote control.

The transmission changes result from the FCC’s nationwide TV spectrum repack, which requires new TV channel assignments in the region.

These changes apply only to viewers who receive Mountain Lake PBS (WCFE-TV) over-the-air via RF Channel 38. If you receive us over-the-air on one of our translators, there may be a slight delay before that change takes place.

  3. Hi After reading the comments I think it’s not a good idea to keep NHK World Japan can you do like WQPT, WEAO or WDCQ change NHK like those 3 channels put DW, WORLDchannel or FNX First Nations Experience

    Thank You,

    John Meaner

Please Ms. Kowalczyk don’t reply me “ Thanks for taking the time to comment …” Reply Me in feedbacks an answer

  4. Unlike the other viewers in this article, I absolutely love NHK-World Japan. Please do not change it, it’s my favorite!

  5. I will reply Mr. Germain add another comment please because WORLD is NHK and DW now, I can watch DW and you can watch NHK World “your favourite” thank you if you see that message to reply Thank you Mr. Germain and every PBS haves World and create like Vermont PBS haves PBS Plus (Worldchannel HD) and create. WCFE and WNET Thirteen are only the channels who don’t haves world but every NY haves.

Please Mr. McGolgan add world or Mountain Lake PLUS

    Thank You

  6. NHK-world is so educational, informative, objective in reporting without bias, uptodate in medical science, news every hour on the hour, and their amazing staff on the screen, world weather reports with satellite pictures etc…it is a gem for us viewers and i love NHK so much!! Thank you PBS for NHK choice.

  7. Here’s another vote for keeping NHK World…Forever! From the first rate world news coverage on the hour (the only such example on OTA in the region) to an amazing variety of Japanese cultural documentary programming that is unique and found nowhere else, NHK World was a first rate addition to WCFE’s channel roster. The quality of NHK’s original programming is remarkable in an age of low information reality shows and bias – you never know what will pop up and the shows are so relaxing compared to what else is out there.

I watch NHK World, on the channel 25 translator, more than any other off the air channel in the Champlain Valley
