Relentless Pursuit

The former State Police Commander who oversaw the manhunt for two inmates who broke out of the maximum security prison in Dannemora, New York, in June of 2015, has written a book about the search for the two escaped killers.

Major Charles Guess was the Commander of Troop B in the Adirondacks, and it fell upon him to lead the massive undertaking. Major Guess, who is now retired, has written Relentless Pursuit, a book about the 23 day search for fugitives Richard Matt and David Sweat, and what it was like to be the person in charge of what would become the largest manhunt in New York State history. Major Guess also talks about his new job as a technical advisor to Hollywood actor and director Ben Stiller who is filming a mini-series on the escape that will air next year on Showtime. The book is being sold locally at Lake City Books in Plattsburgh and Maggy Pharmacy in Dannemora. It’s also available online: www.relentlesspursuittrooper.com
