A Beekmantown High School student was honored recently for her leadership and service. 16-year-old Peyton Dominy was recognized by school staff & the school’s Reality Check Club for being named Reality Check of New York’s Youth Ambassador of the Year for the Capital Region.
Peyton has worked to spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and the health consequences that it can cause for families. Last month Peyton was recognized by Assemblyman Billy Jones and Senator Dan Stec in Albany. She says one of the most rewarding projects has been working for Tobacco-Free Clinton Essex Franklin with elected leaders to make public parks tobacco-free.
