Quebec Premier and NY Governor Break Ground on Champlain Hudson Power Project

Quebec’s Premier, Francois Legault, visited New York City this week for the groundbreaking of a power converter station in Queens that will convert hydropower arriving from Quebec via a 339-mile transmission line that will run along the bottom of Lake Champlain and the Hudson River. The 6-billion-dollar project will supply Metropolitan New York with enough renewable energy to power more than a million homes by 2026.
