A special ceremony pays tribute to our veterans who have been awarded The Purple Heart, one of our nation’s most distinguished military honors.
This is the first year the Town of Plattsburgh and Clinton County American Legion have held the ceremony on Purple Heart Day, August 7th. The ceremony was held at the new Battlefield Memorial Gateway Veterans Park that’s under construction on the shore of Lake Champlain overlooking Crab Island.
