Before its new mission flying passengers to sunny destinations, the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base had a history dating back 200 years. We’ll talk with Melissa Peck and Rich Frost, two historians, who have written a new book on some of the MANY chapters in Plattsburgh’s military history. Online you can hear more about the decade that the base was home to Champlain College, a 4-year liberal arts school, that was forced to close when the Air Force took over the base in 1953.
