Work has started on the city’s 10-million dollar downtown revitalization project. The former Highway Oil gas station has been torn down to make way for a park, along Bridge Street, in the corner of the Durkee Street parking lot that will be one of the centerpieces of the project. The city has started looking for locations to replace the hundreds of parking spots that be lost if the Durkee Street lot is developed. Mayor Colin Read joins us this week to talk about that, and the financial crisis that the city is facing. The Mayor discusses some of the proposals being considered to address the fiscal shortfall, including sharing services with the Town of Plattsburgh.
