A warning, about a phone scam targeting people in the North Country.
Scammers claiming to be employees with the Social Security Administration tell people their social security number or Medicare account have had fraudulent activity, and that if they don’t respond, and give personal information or payments demanded, they could face charges or be arrested.
Lisa Crosby with the Social Security Administration Office in Plattsburgh joins us to talk about what people who get these calls should do.
