There were high hopes in the Adirondacks a few years ago when the State of New York announced big plans for the former Frontier Town Amusement Park in North Hudson. The State D-E-C did build a new campground with a network of horse trails. But hopes outside investors would buy heavily into the project and create a “gateway” to the Adirondacks hasn’t happened. The owner of a near-by gas station did purchase and renovate the landmark A-frame that was the entrance to Frontier Town and opened a retail store and restaurant. Also, a Veteran who owned a craft brewery in near-by Schroon Lake moved to North Hudson and built a multi-million-dollar, state-of-the-art brewery, that has become the hub of the project. Producer Michael Hansen shares how this veteran-owned business is reviving the community and hiring dozens of local workers.
