Canada takes extraordinary steps to try to end a demonstration and blockade in the streets of Ottawa protesting COVID-19 mandates. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this week declared a national emergency to give the government powers to move in to end the protest that has paralyzed Parliament Hill and the City of Ottawa for more than 3 weeks. By the end of the week, barricades had been put up around the city, and a handful of protest organizers arrested.
