The New York State Office for the Aging and Department of Health are holding a series of town hall meetings across the state on Governor Hochul’s Master Plan for Aging that’s developing a new blueprint of what the state needs to do, and what services are needed, to meet the needs of New York’s aging population.
You may remember a few weeks ago, the Director of the State Office for the Aging, Greg Olsen, joined us here in our studios at Mountain Lake PBS for a community forum to discuss and address some of those needs facing seniors, and making them priorities as the State develops its master plan for aging, which is going to rely on input from stakeholders as well as aging New Yorkers.
On July 12th, 2023, Greg Olsen and Adam Herbst with the Department of Health teamed up to hold a pair of town halls in Albany and then here in Plattsburgh. They say the goal is to make whatever changes are needed to better serve New Yorkers as they grow older.
More hearings will likely be scheduled around the state, with the goal of coming up with a new Master Plan for Aging early next year.
