NY Governor Hochul Visits Lake Placid

Governor Hochul came to the Adirondacks to tout the millions of dollars in her budget for the North Country, including money for housing, mental health, and opioid addiction.

Hochul’s budget also includes $82-million more to make improvements to the Olympic venues in Lake Placid and would use $13-million from the Environmental Bond Act passed in 2022 to complete the Adirondack Rail Trail, the 34-mile multi-use recreation trail between Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.

At a press conference with reporters after her budget presentation, the Governor talked about the language in her 2025 Budget that would allow her to close another 5 NYS prisons.
