Bassist Jean Félix Mailloux is stubborn. He gained impressive classical technique — and then decided to study jazz. He acquired impressive jazz chops — and then brought classical music into his jazz-infused work. The result of this stubbornness? A band called Cordâme that will visit Hill and Hollow Music on February 1 — laced with classical inspirations, jazz influences, and a special musical brew of their own.
