The North Country gets the green light from the state to begin reopening from the Coronavirus shutdown. The region has now met all 7 of the benchmarks laid out by Governor Andrew Cuomo, including ramping up testing, and is moving ahead with the first phase of reopening, beginning today. Under Phase One, construction & manufacturing, and some retail businesses offering curbside pick-up will be allowed to reopen. If there are no flare ups of the Coronavirus, then communities will be able to move to the next phase, within a couple of weeks. So far, there is no timetable for Phases Two or Three, which would allow retail stores & then restaurants to reopen.
