Amtrak announced this week that the Adirondack line between Saratoga Springs and Montreal will now be out of service until after Labor Day. Meaning there will be no cross-border train between New York City & Montreal for a second straight summer.
Amtrak said just a couple of weeks ago that work to repair tracks owned by Canadian National Railway, north of the border in Quebec, would last only about six weeks until the end of June. But over the weekend officials confirmed service between Saratoga and Montreal will now be suspended for the rest of the summer during the peak of the summer tourist season. North Country officials this week said they were frustrated about another summer without Amtrak service.
