As the U.S. welcomes back Canadians and international travelers, tourist attractions are beginning to re-open across the state. But New York Governor Kathy Hochul says it will take time for the crowds to return and tourism to pick up again.
This week the Governor unveiled a $450-million-dollar package to help New York’s struggling tourism and hospitality industries recover. As many as 36-thousand workers, who are still off the job, will get one-time 27-hundred-dollar payments to help them until they return to work. Governor Hochul also announced a $100-million-dollar “return to work” grant program that will pay tourism businesses incentives to rehire workers.
