Election day is coming up on Tuesday, November 2nd, but registered voters are casting their ballots early, this week. The Clinton County Board of Elections is open every day this week for Early Voting at the Country Government Building in Plattsburgh.
Throughout the North Country, voters are heading to the polls to vote for town, village, and city officials, along with highway superintendents, Supervisors, County Legislators, and in Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie is seeking re-election.
Early voting runs through this Sunday, October 31st. Check your county board of elections website for the hours the polls are open. And on the ballot this year, no matter where you live in New York State, you’re going to see 5 ballot questions, Proposals on the back side your ballot. The Questions have to do with several issues, but 3 of them deal with redistricting, the redrawing of Congressional & Legislative Districts in New York State, and changes to Voting Laws here in New York. Jennifer Wilson, who is the Deputy Director of the League of Women Voters of New York State joins us to help guide us through the 5 Proposals.
