A former Marine from here in the North Country, honored by Congress for the work he’s doing to get tech companies to hire veterans, is also trying to help his hometown of Plattsburgh by buying and renovating a building in the city’s downtown and opening a new business. Donald Coolidge and his local partners Chad Premore and Toby Trombley are winning praise from community leaders for opening their new business during the pandemic. The Card Shop on Clinton Street in Plattsburgh is open 7 days a week. Coolidge says they hope to hire as many as 4 or 5 full-time employees in the coming months.
