Many people working remotely during the pandemic have been moving and buying up homes in desirable locations all across the country, including in Upstate New York and the Adirondacks. Trouble is, the booming real estate market is creating a shortage of available housing for renters. New affordable housing is going up in several communities, including the village of Tupper Lake, where a new project hopes to create desperately needed housing, while at the same time, preserving one of the village’s historic landmarks.
