There has also been a dramatic increase in the past year in the number of illegal migrants crossing the Northern Border. Which is why officials held a groundbreaking in early August on a new border patrol station in Champlain, New York.
The current location on Ridge Road was built in 1989 and designed to fit 15 agents. The new 36,000-square-foot facility is designed to accommodate 50 border patrol agents and support staff. Construction is expected to be completed by August 2025.
