Many other neighbors have also shared their stories and memories of Irene.
More than 200 stories are part of the My Adirondack Story website, a collection of 3-to-5 minutes audio stories with photographs, about life and living in the Adirondacks. Several are from people who recount what they experienced during Tropical Storm Irene. Jery Huntley, and the Keene Valley Library have teamed up to collect the stories on the “My Adirondack Story”
website.
They’re also offering to help other communities across the country create similar projects. You can learn more about that effort called “Our Story Bridge” as well as hear all the stories from the Adirondacks at www.myadirondackstory.org
