Mountain Lake PBS Stays Local as CPB Dissolves

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced on January 5, 2026, that its Board voted to dissolve the organization after Congress rescinded all federal funding. CPB was a national organization supporting public media, but it does not own or operate local stations.

Mountain Lake PBS is independent and remains on the air and online, serving northern New York, Vermont, and Quebec. While the loss of CPB funding is significant, it does not mean we are closing.
