Mountain Lake PBS nominated for 2 Emmys!

Mountain Lake PBS is proud to announce that 2 stories produced for Mountain Lake Journal have been nominated for awards at the 44th annual New England Emmy Awards!


Nominated in the Technology News category, this story produced and edited by Michael Hansen with videography by Will Houle highlights North Country families without access to broadband and the challenges they faced when schools switched to online learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hansen also spoke with Dave Wolff, a board member with AdkAction, and a broadband advocate who talks about efforts in New York State to expand broadband to more rural areas of the Adirondacks, and how it impacts distance learning.


Nominated in the Societal Concerns – Short Form Content category, this story produced, edited and shot by Michael Hansen examines the spike in domestic violence cases in the North Country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hansen spoke with Amber Brown-Rose, who is the Program Director with STOP Domestic Violence, a State certified program to assist victims of domestic violence in Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties of New York.
