Montreal is set to host one of the most exciting cultural competitions of the year as the 2026 Quiz on Korea returns, calling on passionate Korean culture enthusiasts to test their knowledge and represent Canada on a global stage.
Organized as part of a worldwide initiative celebrating Korea’s rich heritage and global influence, this annual quiz competition challenges non-Korean adults with questions spanning history, society, K-pop, and contemporary culture.
The stakes are high: one standout participant from Montreal will earn the chance to travel to South Korea and compete in the Grand Final, broadcast by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS).
A Unique Opportunity to Represent Canada
The Montreal preliminary round will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Université de Montréal (Pavillon 3200 Jean-Brillant, Room B-2305). Participants will engage in a lively and dynamic quiz format, featuring true or false questions, multiple choice, consonant puzzles, and short answer challenges. Questions will be presented in English, French, and Korean, ensuring accessibility to a diverse audience.

Grand Prize: A Journey to Korea
The winner of the Montreal round will advance to the international Grand Final in South Korea, scheduled for early September. This once in a lifetime opportunity includes:

Who Can Apply?
The competition is open to individuals aged 18 and over who have legal status in Canada or Canadian citizenship. Applicants must not have held Korean citizenship and should not have previously competed in a Grand Final in Korea. A strong interest in Korea and solid knowledge of its culture are essential.
While all eligible participants can win local prizes, only Canadian passport holders will advance to represent Canada internationally.
