Mohawk pottery celebrates the miracle of life!

“SPOTLIGHT” – NATIVE AMERICAN ARTISTRY – POTTERY – Mohawk artist Natasha Santiago Smoke creates stunning pottery pieces, paintings and sculptures, keeping in touch with her Native American heritage. She’s become well-known for her “belly casts” of pregnant women. This is a segment in the Native American Artistry series, produced by Paul Larson, and presented as a “Spotlight” segment on Mountain Lake PBS programs. The Native American Artistry pieces are produced by Mountain Lake PBS in cooperation with the New York State Historical Association’s Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown, New York. This project is also a partnership with the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. “Spotlight” is made possible, in part, by the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life for year-round residents of the Adirondack Park. www.pearsallfoundation.org
