Plattsburgh’s new Micro Bird school bus assembly plant is set to open this month in the former Nova Bus factory. After months of hiring workers and making upgrades, officials say they are ready to start operations.
Once up and running, he says they plan to produce almost 3,500 buses annually.
So far, the company has hired 130 employees, many from Nova Bus, the former facility that ceased operations in the same building after more than a decade. The company says it hopes to hire up to 225 workers by the end of the year.
